I recently purchased the 'electric honey filler' from Old Castle Farm Hives. It arrived quickly, well packaged and has been a real eye opener to use. It has speeded up the jarring process and turned out to be very easy to use. I recently purchased two pieces of equipment from old castle hives, the Benka 20 frame honey extractor and the Benka warming tank - and couldn't be more impressed.
The 20 frame extractor is an absolutely brilliant piece of kit the build quality is excellent, and it performed flawlessly. I managed to extract 40 honey supers over a two day period without a single issue. It's easy to operate, simple to clean and clearly designed with practicality in mind . An outstanding extractor that I would recommend to any beekeeper. I also purchased the 250kg Benka warming tank, the quality of this tank is second to none. Solid construction and exactly what I needed for handling larger quantities of honey.
A special mention to Ian and his team at old castle hives, they were very helpful, polite and a pleasure to deal with.
Overall, a fantastic experience and top quality products.

This is my second purchase from old Castle Farms. I love the sentinel pro B suit. It fits well, it’s durable, and I haven’t gotten any bee stings over the last six years. My most recent purchase was a week or so ago. I paid $60 in Shipping cost to the United States. And then I got an email from UPS saying there would be an additional $130 in fees collected at time of delivery which made the total shipping cost just under $200. The additional fees was not posted or noted Anywhere on old Castle Farm’s website. When I contacted Customer Service, they said they are unaware and unable to clarify or assist with this fee. I told them they should Disclose this additional fee on their website, but I got no response to my request. If I could’ve canceled the order I would have, but it had already shipped. I like the suit, but not the shipping costs or additional fees. Super bummed out about that.
Update Oct 6, 2025: I appreciate that you have finally clarified the additional fee's I had to pay in order to receive my bee suit and that you are taking steps to disclose the additional fee's on your website. I'm sure other buyers will appreciate that.
I don't believe I ever stated that OCF was "hiding" the additional fee's, and since OCF could not, at that time, clarify what the fee's were for as part of my OCF transaction, then it seemed accurate that you were "responsible" for them.
I can tell you are proud of your suits and you appreciate clarity. You just didn't demonstrate the transparency and clarity needed at the time of my purchase in order to avoid this confusion and frustration.

Outstanding after sales customer service. Purchased a 9 frame Konigan extractor only 12 months ago from them. Motor burnt out as I started this seasons extraction. Contacted Ian at Old Castle Farm Hives; no questioning, no argument, just great service in replacing the motor within 24 hours, plus video link with him to remove the old motor. Absolutely over the moon with this excellent service. Cannot recommend this company enough.

Having made an online order with this company I was really surprised with the speed, quality of packaging and consideration taken in shipping the items. Their wax foundation needs special mention as it is simply sublime. By far the best I have found from.any supplier. Really good.stuff.

Fantastic service from Ian at Old Castle Farm Hives.
I ordered a new Sentinel Pro II full suit after speaking to him to discuss sizes – I’m 6’4” tall and was surprised that the suit Ian sent me fitted perfectly, and is really comfortable, even with normal clothes underneath.
The suit is highly ventilated and of the highest quality of materials and is well designed with YKK zips, plenty of pockets and velcro covers over the zip tops. There’s no chance of being stung through the material as it’s thicker than the sting itself, and the fabric is very light weight, comfortable and flexible. A clear face mesh and sting-proof material on the hat and veil too.
The Sentinel II is much better than any other mesh suits available, has a range of different hat/fencing vale, gauntlets, gloves and gaiters available in the same sting-proof material and is well priced with fast delivery too – you can’t go wrong with one of these!

'Virtually sting-proof' bee suit made after allergy concern
A farmer has developed a "virtually sting-proof" bee suit after a bee-keeping friend suffered a severe allergic reaction after being stung.
The suit is being used by horticulture students at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Carmarthenshire.
