At Old Castle Farm Hives, our story is rooted in the rugged hills of Wales and a deep love for nature. What began as a traditional poultry farm evolved into a passionate pursuit of beekeeping.
This wasnt just diversification, it was a discovery.
Early Days (2000s)
Our story began in the early 2000s with a small family smallholding, where sheep farming was at the heart of everything we did.
Diversifying (Mid-2000s)
As the years rolled on, we began to diversify, introducing free-range chickens and seasonal turkeys to our smallholding, adding more life and variety to the farm.
Farm Shop (2010)
By 2010, we opened our very own farm shop, sharing the best of what we produce. Local meats, fresh honey, and seasonal goodies!
Beekeeping & Equipment (2012)
As our passion grew, we found our true focus, beekeeping. From caring for our own hives to supplying specialist equipment, this chapter marked an exciting new direction for our farm.
